The EngelNovitt Undergraduate Research Fellowships in Neuroscience program is a paid summer internship giving students the opportunity to work within a neuroscience laboratory affiliated with the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience. Students will spend 40 hours per week immersed in a research environment assisting with an ongoing project. The goal is to provide students with real world neuroscience research experience and bench skills that can help them as they progress in their research and/or medical careers. Students will be required to write a description of their work at the end of the program. Students must identify a faculty mentor affiliated to the School of Neuroscience at Virginia Tech before applying to the program. Students participating in the program will receive a $3500 stipend.
Though all Virginia Tech undergraduates considering a career in neuroscience research are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher who is already committed to a research laboratory.
