John Rossmeisl, Neuroscience affiliated faculty, is the principal investigator on study which is trying to identify a safe and effective dose of a drug to treat brain tumors in dogs to be used is a future clinical trial. Because canine and human brains are very similar, researchers hope the data found in the trial can be applied to people.

“The dogs are benefiting from this, but eventually this drug is intended to go into humans,” Rossmeisl said.
