Emily Vedder is the Assistant Director of Academic Advising for the School of Neuroscience. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa, and a Master of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University (ASU). Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Emily worked at ASU for 5 years in both student engagement and academic advising. In 2021, she received the National Academic Advising Association's (NACADA) Excellence in Advising Award for Region 10, and in 2023 received the VT College of Science Outstanding Academic Advisor Award (Professional Advisor). Emily is an advocate for proactive and developmental advising, and encourages students to make the most of their time in college.
